Wooden Wall Cross with the Crucifixion of Christ

The cross is the centre of the Christian faith - the sign on which the love of God was shown to the end. This wooden wall cross bears the image of the Crucifixion: the Lord with His head bowed, a golden halo, and the Greek monograms ΙΣ ΧΣ, with the titulus (the inscription tablet) above Him that Pilate ordered set over the cross. At the foot a skull is painted - by Orthodox tradition the skull of the forefather Adam, for the cross of Christ, as the Fathers say, was set over Adam's grave: thus by His death Christ redeems the fall of the first man.

The cross is hand-made in our workshop in Petrovčić, near Belgrade - of wood, dark-toned and sealed with an eco-friendly lacquer, while the image of the Crucifixion is made by lithography with hand-finished detail. It is ready to hang on the wall of an icon corner, above a doorway, or in a home prayer nook. A certificate of authenticity accompanies every piece.
