Wooden Icon of the Three Holy Elders - Porphyrios, Paisios and Iakovos

This icon brings together three saints of our own time who were spiritual fathers to thousands: Saint Porphyrios Kafsokalyvitis (1906-1991), known for his gift of clairvoyance, Saint Paisios the Athonite (1924-1994), whose counsels have been translated into many languages, and Saint Iakovos Tsalikis (1920-1991), abbot of the Monastery of Saint David on Euboea. Many who knew them personally are still alive, so this icon shows that holiness is not only a thing of the past.

The elders stand side by side in black monastic habits. On the left is Saint Iakovos, with a staff and his right hand raised in blessing, in the middle Saint Paisios with his hands folded on his chest, and on the right Saint Porphyrios holding an icon of the Theotokos. Above them ΟΙ ΑΓΙΟΙ ΤΡΕΙΣ ΓΕΡΟΝΤΕΣ (The Three Holy Elders) is written in gold. The figures are on a cut-out mounted over the wooden board.
