The Theotokos of the Passion is one of the most moving types of icon of the Mother of God. In its full form, archangels fly beside the Mother carrying the instruments of the Passion - the cross, the spear and the reed with the sponge. The Child sees them, turns in fear and grasps his Mother by the hand. The icon speaks of a mother who knows what awaits her Son and holds him all the same.
This piece shows only the Mother and Child, without the angels. The Theotokos wears a dark blue maphorion, and the young Christ a copper-coloured robe. The monograms ΜΡ ΘΥ and IC XC are written beside them in gold. The image is on a cut-out mounted over the wooden board, with halos in raised gold.

Delivery
We ship all orders within Serbia only. Delivery takes 10-15 business days from order confirmation - this includes crafting, packaging and transport.
Icons are sent by courier, with proof of delivery. Packaging is twofold - an inner layer with protective foam and an outer cushioning layer for safe transport.
