Hodegetria - Greek for "She Who Shows the Way". In this iconographic type, the Most Holy Theotokos holds the God-Child Jesus Christ on her left arm, while her right hand points toward Him, directing the faithful: here is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Christ sits upright, offering a solemn blessing, and His golden nimbus with ornamental detail reveals Who it is to Whom the Mother leads us. The Hodegetria is one of the oldest and most widespread icon types in the Orthodox tradition.
The vigil lamp is designed as a freestanding piece for the icon corner of the home - the arch-shaped icon panel, whose upper edge follows the curve of the Theotokos's halo, stands upright on a rounded wooden base. The deep burgundy-violet maphorion, the golden nimbus with fine ornament, and the solemn face of the Mother of God give the piece a dignity fitting for a place of prayer. Our workshop carefully finishes each piece by hand so that the final appearance faithfully reflects the iconographic original.

Each piece goes through several steps before it reaches you:
- MDF base. Carefully selected and worked to a smooth finish - a stable base that does not warp over time.
- Lithograph print. The icon is printed in high resolution onto the prepared MDF base, with faithful colours and detail.
- Hand-finishing. Every piece is finished and checked by hand before the final coat.
- Eco-friendly varnish. The final coat protects against moisture and gives lasting durability - the colours stay vivid for years.
- Certificate and cord. The back carries the workshop's mark and a cord ready for hanging. Every icon comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Delivery
We ship all orders within Serbia only. Delivery takes 10-15 business days from order confirmation - this includes crafting, packaging and transport.
Icons are sent by courier, with proof of delivery. Packaging is twofold - an inner layer with protective foam and an outer cushioning layer for safe transport.
