This icon depicts the meeting of the Most Holy Mother of God and St. Elizabeth, the mother of St. John the Forerunner. When Mary, carrying the God-child within her, came to visit her kinswoman Elizabeth, the child in Elizabeth's womb - the future St. John the Forerunner - leapt for joy, recognising the presence of the Lord. Then Elizabeth spoke the words we still repeat today: "Blessed are you among women".
The meeting of the two mothers, one carrying the Forerunner and the other the Saviour, is one of the most tender scenes of the Gospel - an image of joy, humility, and the recognition of God. Before this icon the faithful pray for the blessing of motherhood, for the health of their children, and for joy in the family.

Delivery
We ship all orders within Serbia only. Delivery takes 10-15 business days from order confirmation - this includes crafting, packaging and transport.
Icons are sent by courier, with proof of delivery. Packaging is twofold - an inner layer with protective foam and an outer cushioning layer for safe transport.
