The Entry of the Theotokos into the Temple is a feast that celebrates the bringing of the young Mary into the Jerusalem temple - the act by which her parents, Sts. Joachim and Anna, consecrated her to God, fulfilling the vow they had made during the long years of praying for a child. The icon depicts a multi-figure scene: young Mary at the centre entering towards the temple, priests before her to receive her, and her parents Joachim and Anna accompanying her on either side along with attendants. The architecture of the temple and the gold background make the scene solemn. The Greek inscription ΤΑ ΕΙΣΟΔΙΑ ΤΗΣ ΘΕΟΤΟΚΟΥ (The Entry of the Theotokos) names the feast.
The Church celebrates the Entry on 21 November (4 December by the new calendar) as one of the Twelve Great Feasts. This is a feast of consecration - and every family living in faith recognises in it their own act: that what is given to God remains safe.

Delivery
We ship all orders within Serbia only. Delivery takes 10-15 business days from order confirmation - this includes crafting, packaging and transport.
Icons are sent by courier, with proof of delivery. Packaging is twofold - an inner layer with protective foam and an outer cushioning layer for safe transport.
