The Crucifixion is the heart of the Christian faith and one of the most powerful images ever recorded. In this icon Christ is shown crucified on a wooden cross with the inscription INRI at the top (Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum - Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews). Around him are mourners: on the left the Most Holy Mother of God and an elder, and in the foreground St. John and Mary Magdalene at the foot of the cross. On the right a soldier with a spear. The body of Christ shines against a dark, leaden background that gives the scene the nocturnal weight of Golgotha. The rustic base of irregular shape underscores that this is not decoration - it is testimony.
This icon differs from classical Byzantine crucifixions in that the composition comes from the Western European iconographic tradition with realistically depicted figures, but has been adapted for the Orthodox sacred corner. It is suitable for the home, a chapel, or personal prayer, especially during Holy Week and Fridays.

Delivery
We ship all orders within Serbia only. Delivery takes 10-15 business days from order confirmation - this includes crafting, packaging and transport.
Icons are sent by courier, with proof of delivery. Packaging is twofold - an inner layer with protective foam and an outer cushioning layer for safe transport.
