Saint Paisios of Mount Athos was born in 1924 as Arsenios, in Farasa of Cappadocia, from where his family moved to Greece. He spent his entire monastic life in prayer and ascetic labor on Mount Athos, where he became known as a gentle spiritual father and comforter who received thousands of the faithful and had a word of encouragement for everyone. On this icon he is shown as an elderly monk with a gray beard, in dark monastic vestments and with a black kamilavka (monastic cap), while raising his right hand in blessing. The Greek inscription „Ο ΑΓΙΟΣ ΠΑΙΣΙΟΣ" means „Saint Paisios". The golden halo with a floral ornament highlights his sanctity, and his serene gaze reflects the gentleness for which he is remembered to this day.
The faithful pray to Saint Paisios for comfort in hardship, for peace of soul, for family and children, and for strength in temptations - just as he himself comforted everyone who came to him during his life. Thanks to the built-in cup for a vigil lamp, this icon immediately becomes a small corner of prayer: it would find its place in the holy corner of the home, on a home iconostasis, or on a desk. Saint Paisios is celebrated on July 12. Delivery
We ship all orders within Serbia only. Delivery takes 10-15 business days from order confirmation - this includes crafting, packaging and transport.
Icons are sent by courier, with proof of delivery. Packaging is twofold - an inner layer with protective foam and an outer cushioning layer for safe transport.
