Saint Matrona of Moscow (1881-1952) is one of the most venerated Russian women saints of recent times. She was born blind and later became bedridden as well, yet from childhood she had the gift of prayer, healing and spiritual insight, and thousands of the faithful came to her for comfort and counsel. On this icon she is shown from the waist up, with closed eyes, in a white headscarf and a dark green monastic robe, holding a prayer rope with her palm raised in prayer. The Greek inscription "Η ΟΣΙΑ ΜΑΤΡΩΝΑ Η ΡΩΣΙΔΑ Η ΑΟΜΜΑΤΟΣ" means "Venerable Matrona the Russian, the Blind," and recalls the cross of blindness that she bore with faith and patience.
The faithful pray to Saint Matrona for health and healing, for help in trouble, peace in the family, children and the resolution of difficult life situations. Her icon sits beautifully in the home's icon corner, on a family iconostasis or in a prayer nook, as well as beside the bed of the sick. Her feast day is celebrated on May 2. Delivery
We ship all orders within Serbia only. Delivery takes 10-15 business days from order confirmation - this includes crafting, packaging and transport.
Icons are sent by courier, with proof of delivery. Packaging is twofold - an inner layer with protective foam and an outer cushioning layer for safe transport.
