St. Basil the Great, Archbishop of Caesarea, is one of the greatest teachers of the Church and one of the Three Holy Hierarchs. On the icon he is shown in bishop's vestments, with a long dark pointed beard, blessing with his right hand while holding the Gospel in his left. Above his figure is the inscription СВ. ВАСИЛИЈЕ ВЕЛИКИ (St. Basil the Great). His composed gaze and gesture of blessing call one to prayer and inner peace. St. Basil is remembered as a defender of the Orthodox faith and the author of the Divine Liturgy that still bears his name today.
St. Basil the Great is celebrated on January 14 (January 1 by the old calendar), a day that in Serbian tradition coincides with the Serbian New Year. The faithful pray to him for wisdom, steadfastness in faith, and help in good works, for during his life he was known for his great care for the poor and the sick. Delivery
We ship all orders within Serbia only. Delivery takes 10-15 business days from order confirmation - this includes crafting, packaging and transport.
Icons are sent by courier, with proof of delivery. Packaging is twofold - an inner layer with protective foam and an outer cushioning layer for safe transport.
