Saints Cosmas and Damian were brothers and physicians who used their skill to heal the sick, asking for no payment in return - which is why the Church honors them as holy unmercenaries (in Greek Anargyroi, those without silver). On this icon they stand side by side, each holding a small case with medical instruments and a slender probe, the recognizable symbols of their healing calling. The Greek inscription beside the halos reads Ο ΑΓΙΟΣ ΚΟΣΜΑΣ and Ο ΑΓΙΟΣ ΔΑΜΙΑΝΟΣ - Saint Cosmas and Saint Damian. They are dressed in rich robes in olive and earthy tones, with gold halos against a cloud-like blue-green background. Their calm gaze conveys the mercy with which they healed both body and soul.
The faithful pray to the Holy Unmercenaries for health, for healing from illness, and for help in times of trouble, and they are especially venerated by doctors, nurses, and all who care for the sick. Delivery
We ship all orders within Serbia only. Delivery takes 10-15 business days from order confirmation - this includes crafting, packaging and transport.
Icons are sent by courier, with proof of delivery. Packaging is twofold - an inner layer with protective foam and an outer cushioning layer for safe transport.
