Saint Paraskeva the Venerable Martyr - known among the Serbian people as Sveta Petka - is shown in a dark monastic habit and a burgundy mantle, with a cross in her right hand and a vessel in her left. The cross is the sign of martyrdom, and the vessel with eyes recalls the tradition that Saint Paraskeva healed diseases of the eyes and restored sight. At the top stands the Greek inscription Η ΑΓΙΑ ΠΑΡΑΣΚΕΥΗ. Saint Paraskeva is celebrated on 27 October and is one of the most venerated women saints among the Serbs - her springs and churches are found throughout Serbia.
Before the icon of Saint Paraskeva the faithful pray for the health of the eyes and of sight, for healing from illness and for help in women's trials and family cares. She is also a frequent patron-saint feast (slava), so this icon has its place on the feast table and the family iconostasis, as well as in the prayer nook of the home.

Delivery
We ship all orders within Serbia only. Delivery takes 10-15 business days from order confirmation - this includes crafting, packaging and transport.
Icons are sent by courier, with proof of delivery. Packaging is twofold - an inner layer with protective foam and an outer cushioning layer for safe transport.
