Saint Ephraim the New was a monk of the Monastery of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos on the Mount of the Disobedient (Amomon) near Nea Makri in Attica, Greece. He suffered a martyr's death at the hands of Turkish raiders in the first half of the 15th century, and his holy relics were discovered only in the middle of the 20th century, which is why he received the name "the Newly-Revealed." On the icon he is shown as a monk with a black skufia and a dark, thick beard, in a dark monastic mantle; he blesses with his right hand, while holding his left with an open palm. The inscription "SF. EFREM CEL NOU" (Romanian) means "Saint Ephraim the New." The gold background and the thin red halo (nimbus) emphasize his holiness and his martyric feat.
The faithful pray to Saint Ephraim the New for help in difficult and seemingly hopeless situations, for healing, protection of the family, and comfort in times of trouble; he is known as a great wonderworker. The icon finds its place in the home's icon corner, on a family iconostasis, or in a prayer nook. Delivery
We ship all orders within Serbia only. Delivery takes 10-15 business days from order confirmation - this includes crafting, packaging and transport.
Icons are sent by courier, with proof of delivery. Packaging is twofold - an inner layer with protective foam and an outer cushioning layer for safe transport.
