Saint Arsenios, a wonderworker from Cappadocia, stands in monastic vesture holding a red Gospel, while to the side, on his knees and in prayer, kneels the elder Paisios in a black monastic habit. According to tradition, it was Saint Arsenios who baptised the child who would later become Saint Paisios. In the background is a landscape of rocks, a village and a monastery, and at the top are the red Greek inscriptions Ο ΑΓΙΟΣ ΑΡΣΕΝΙΟΣ and Ο ΓΕΡΩΝ ΠΑΪΣΙΟΣ (Elder Paisios).
