The icon of the Most Holy Theotokos the Pregnant (Greek Η ΕΓΚΥΜΟΝΟΥΣΑ - "she who carries in the womb") shows the Mother of God in the blessed state, before the birth of Christ. The Theotokos is in a dark blue garment, and on her lap, in a luminous medallion, the infant Christ is shown - the Son of God whom she carries beneath her heart. Behind her two archangels hold a red cloth of honour. Beside the halos stand the monograms ΜΡ ΘΥ (Mother of God) and ΙΣ ΧΣ (Jesus Christ). This is one of the rarer and especially moving types of the Marian icon.
To the Most Holy Theotokos the Pregnant, women expecting a child pray in a special way, as do those who pray for conception and a blessed pregnancy, for the health of mother and child and for a safe delivery. Delivery
We ship all orders within Serbia only. Delivery takes 10-15 business days from order confirmation - this includes crafting, packaging and transport.
Icons are sent by courier, with proof of delivery. Packaging is twofold - an inner layer with protective foam and an outer cushioning layer for safe transport.
