The icon of the Most Holy Mother of God "of Seven Swords" (also known as the "Softening of Evil Hearts") depicts the Mother of God with seven swords piercing her heart. The image is that of the prophecy of the righteous Simeon, spoken when the God-child was brought to the Temple: "And a sword shall pierce through your own soul". The seven swords denote the fullness of the pain the Mother endured alongside her Son.
The number seven in Holy Scripture signifies completeness. Icons are sent by courier, with proof of delivery. Packaging is twofold - an inner layer with protective foam and an outer cushioning layer for safe transport.
