The Eleusa - also known as Glykofilusa, meaning "tenderness" - is one of the most beloved iconographic types of the Theotokos. The Mother of God holds the Christ Child cheek to cheek: He leans into her embrace, and in that single gesture of mother and Child, the icon condenses both human warmth and divine mercy. She is depicted in a deep crimson maphorion with a golden ornamented halo; the God-child, dressed in a light robe with bare feet showing beneath, presses close to her. The Greek inscriptions ΜΡ ΘΥ and ΙΣ ΧΣ - the traditional monograms for the Mother of God and Jesus Christ - accompany the image as they have for centuries.
This icon was made in our workshop in Petrovčić, near Belgrade: the image is applied to an MDF panel through lithography, then hand-finished and sealed with an eco-friendly protective lacquer. The rustic dark panel - irregular in shape, with an arched recess and metal studs at the corners - gives the icon a tangible, timeworn quality, as though it has always been here. A certificate of authenticity accompanies every piece.

- Lithograph print. The icon is printed in high resolution onto the prepared MDF base, with faithful colours and detail.
- Hand-finishing. Every piece is finished and checked by hand before the final coat.
- Eco-friendly varnish. The final coat protects against moisture and gives lasting durability - the colours stay vivid for years.
- Certificate and cord. The back carries the workshop's mark and a cord ready for hanging. Every icon comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Delivery
We ship all orders within Serbia only. Delivery takes 10-15 business days from order confirmation - this includes crafting, packaging and transport.
Icons are sent by courier, with proof of delivery. Packaging is twofold - an inner layer with protective foam and an outer cushioning layer for safe transport.
