"Eleusa" (Greek: "Merciful", "Tenderness") is one of the warmest types of icon of the Most Holy Mother of God. The God-child Christ is pressed cheek to cheek with his Mother, and she holds him gently - a scene of simultaneous love and quiet foreknowledge of the suffering that awaits him. Unlike the severe, solemn portrayals, Eleusa reveals the Mother of God as a Mother.
The most well-known icon of this type is the Vladimir Mother of God, one of the most venerated in the Orthodox world. Before the Eleusa the faithful address the Mother of God for maternal consolation, the protection of children, and peace in the home. Delivery
We ship all orders within Serbia only. Delivery takes 10-15 business days from order confirmation - this includes crafting, packaging and transport.
Icons are sent by courier, with proof of delivery. Packaging is twofold - an inner layer with protective foam and an outer cushioning layer for safe transport.
