This icon depicts St. Sophia - whose name means "wisdom" in Greek - with her three daughters: Faith, Hope and Love (Pistis, Elpida and Agapi). In Rome in the 2nd century, during the reign of Emperor Hadrian, the girls - the youngest of whom was only nine years old - refused to deny Christ and each suffered martyrdom in turn, while their mother encouraged them to endure to the end.
Sophia buried all three daughters and, according to tradition, on the third day at their grave she herself surrendered her soul to God. The names of mother and daughters - Wisdom who bears Faith, Hope and Love - make this icon one of the most moving images of the Christian family. Their feast day is 17 September. Before this icon mothers pray for their children and families pray for unity in the faith.

Icons are sent by courier, with proof of delivery. Packaging is twofold - an inner layer with protective foam and an outer cushioning layer for safe transport.
