St. Barbara the Great Martyr lived in the 3rd and 4th centuries. Her pagan father kept her locked in a tower to shield her from the world, but there, gazing at the beauty of creation, she came to know the one God on her own and was secretly baptised. When he discovered this, her father in his rage handed her over to torturers, and in the end killed her himself.
Because of the prayer she uttered before her death - that anyone who remembers her be preserved from sudden death without receiving Holy Communion - St. Barbara has been invoked for centuries as a protectress against sudden and unprepared death. Her feast day is 17 December (Varvarica), on the eve of St. Nicholas. Before her icon the faithful pray for a good Christian end of life and for the protection of the home.

Delivery
We ship all orders within Serbia only. Delivery takes 10-15 business days from order confirmation - this includes crafting, packaging and transport.
Icons are sent by courier, with proof of delivery. Packaging is twofold - an inner layer with protective foam and an outer cushioning layer for safe transport.
