St. Athanasius the Great (c. 296-373), Archbishop of Alexandria, is one of the greatest teachers of the Church and a pillar of Orthodoxy. At a time when the Arian heresy - the teaching that Christ is not truly God - had flooded nearly the entire Christian world, including the imperial courts, Athanasius unwaveringly defended the truth that the Son is consubstantial with the Father. He was exiled from his diocese five times because of this, but he did not yield; after him the saying remains: "Athanasius against the world."
His witness is woven into the very Creed which we still profess today. He was also a friend and biographer of St. Anthony the Great, through which he brought desert monasticism to the whole world. His feast day is 2 May, and 18 January together with St. Cyril of Alexandria. The faithful pray to him for firmness in the faith and courage to persevere in truth.

Delivery
We ship all orders within Serbia only. Delivery takes 10-15 business days from order confirmation - this includes crafting, packaging and transport.
Icons are sent by courier, with proof of delivery. Packaging is twofold - an inner layer with protective foam and an outer cushioning layer for safe transport.
