This is a home iconostasis in the form of a triptych - a three-panel icon with a central panel and two side wings that fold closed. In the centre is the Lord Jesus Christ Pantocrator, blessing and holding the open Gospel. On the side wings stand the two most venerated holy warrior saints of Orthodoxy: St. George, slaying the dragon on horseback with his spear, and St. Demetrius of Thessaloniki, also on horseback.
The triptych is made to stand on its own - on a table, shelf or in the sacred corner - and to serve as the family "small iconostasis" before which the prayer of the home is gathered. When folded, the wings protect the central figure and the iconostasis becomes portable. The pairing of Christ Pantocrator with the two holy warriors makes it an icon of blessing and protection for the home.
