Holy Empress Theodora was a Byzantine empress who, after the age of iconoclasm, restored the veneration of holy icons to the life of the Church. As a ruler and a mother, she convened the council that gave the faithful back their right to pray before the images of Christ, the Mother of God, and the saints. On this icon she is shown crowned, in richly worked imperial vestments, holding an icon of Christ in her hands - a clear sign of her role as the restorer of icon veneration. Across the top runs the Greek inscription Η ΑΓΙΑ ΘΕΟΔΩΡΑ, which ties her unmistakably to this saint and her work. Her image brings together imperial dignity and a deep devotion to the faith.
The restoration of icon veneration is remembered on the Sunday of Orthodoxy, the first Sunday of Great Lent, when the Church solemnly affirms the place of holy icons in prayer. - Certificate and hook. The back carries the workshop's mark and a hook ready for hanging. Every icon comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Delivery
We ship all orders within Serbia only. Delivery takes 10-15 business days from order confirmation - this includes crafting, packaging and transport.
Icons are sent by courier, with proof of delivery. Packaging is twofold - an inner layer with protective foam and an outer cushioning layer for safe transport.
Payment

Returns
