The "Extreme Humility" icon depicts the dead Christ, standing upright in the tomb-coffin, His head bowed to His chest and His eyes closed. Behind Him rises the cross, flanked by the instruments of the Passion - the spear that pierced His side and the reed with the sponge. The Greek inscription Η ΑΚΡΑ ΤΑΠΕΙΝΩΣΙΣ (Extreme Humility) names this ancient Byzantine image, which distills the whole mystery of Christ's sacrifice. It is not a scene of despair, but of stillness - a moment in which strength is revealed through complete surrender and humility.
This image is deeply bound to Holy Week, and above all to Good Friday and Holy Saturday, when the Church remembers Christ's suffering, death and rest in the tomb. Before it the faithful pause in prayers of repentance, gratitude and quiet hope in the resurrection. Delivery
We ship all orders within Serbia only. Delivery takes 10-15 business days from order confirmation - this includes crafting, packaging and transport.
Icons are sent by courier, with proof of delivery. Packaging is twofold - an inner layer with protective foam and an outer cushioning layer for safe transport.
Payment
