This is a reproduction of the oldest surviving icon of the Lord Jesus Christ - the Pantocrator (Almighty) from the sixth century, still kept today at the Monastery of Saint Catherine on Sinai. It is known for one remarkable detail: the two halves of Christ's face are not the same. One side is gentle and merciful, the other stern and just - the iconographer thus expressed that Christ is both Judge and Saviour, both God and man. He blesses with His right hand and holds a richly ornamented Gospel in His left, and beside the halo stand the letters ΙΣ ΧΣ.
This piece is made on an irregular piece of dark wood with an arched upper edge, so every piece has its own shape and its own texture - much as the first icons were made on whatever was at hand. Before the Pantocrator of Sinai the faithful pray for mercy and for justice, for strength to endure and for peace before a decision. Its place is in the icon corner of the home, the prayer nook, and as a gift that is remembered.

- Certificate and hook. The back carries the workshop's mark and a hook ready for hanging. Every icon comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Delivery
We ship all orders within Serbia only. Delivery takes 10-15 business days from order confirmation - this includes crafting, packaging and transport.
Icons are sent by courier, with proof of delivery. Packaging is twofold - an inner layer with protective foam and an outer cushioning layer for safe transport.
